Claudia joined YAD in September 2018 and has worked in various capacities in the field of social work for close to 30 years.  In the late 90’s she was the founding clinical director of the Youth Service Providers Network (YSPN), now known as YouthConnect.  She was instrumental in the program’s design and the creation of program and clinical policies and protocols.  While overseeing all clinical aspects of YSPN, she created a supervision and training model focused on the development of licensed social workers able to work with the most at-risk youth and families in Boston to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical case management and supportive services to clients, many of whom were involved in the juvenile and criminal justice systems.  Claudia was Assistant Clinical Director at the JRI Evaluation & Treatment Center providing clinical & programmatic services to 27 adolescent boys committed to the Department of Youth Services.

Claudia obtained her undergraduate degree from Wheaton College her MSW graduate degree from Boston University School of Social Work in 1990, and was the recipient of BU’s School of Social Work  Alumni Association’s Urban Social Worker of  the year award in 2006.  Since 2001, Claudia has worked with public defenders and private bar advocates on cases in juvenile, district, superior, and federal courts as well as with attorneys from the mental health litigation and alternative commitment divisions. Over the years, Claudia has also led trainings and workshops for a variety of audiences including attorneys, social workers, community providers, and policy makers.
