JACQUELINE DUTTON

ATTORNEY-IN-CHARGE

Attorney Dutton joined the CPCS Worcester Offices in 2008, advocating for clients as a staff attorney in matters from misdemeanors to serious felonies to SORB classifications in the District Court and Superior Court Offices and as a Supervising Attorney in the District Court Office before becoming the Attorney in Charge in 2012.  She became the Attorney in Charge of the combined District and Superior Court Office in July 2017.  She is an active participant in CPCS and Worcester County Bar Association trainings in both practical trial skills and substantive areas of practice in the criminal field and is a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College at Macon in 2011.

A graduate of Northeastern University School of Law in 2000, Attorney Dutton began her legal career as a law clerk to Justice Miriam Shearing of the Nevada Supreme Court.  From 2001 to 2005, she represented clients in cases ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies to murder cases as a staff attorney at the Metropolitan Public Defenders Office in Portland, Oregon.  She continued her criminal defense work in private practice in Arizona from 2005 to 2008 as a trial attorney in major felony and capital murder cases, appellate and post-conviction work, and prisoner’s rights and police brutality civil litigation.

Attorney Dutton is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, Oregon, Arizona and the Federal District Court of Arizona.  Having served as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in Quito, Ecuador between her graduation from Wellesley College and law school, Attorney Dutton is also proficient in Spanish.
