After graduating from Penn State and Harvard Law School, Rebecca Jacobstein worked for two years as an appellate attorney for indigent criminal defendants at the Office of the Appellate Defender in New York City. For the next five years, she was a public defender at the New Hampshire Public Defender’s Office. She then moved to Massachusetts, and after working for a year at The Spangenberg Group, a research and consulting firm specializing in improving justice programs, she opened her own solo practice focusing on post-conviction representation in Massachusetts and federal courts. In 2012, she was named an Up & Coming Lawyer by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. She joined the Appeals Unit of the Public Defender Division of CPCS in April, 2014.
